Refractive Lens Exchange

Among the advances in laser eye surgery, one is generating a lot of buzz. Refractive Lens Exchange also known as Clear Lens Extraction, the natural, existing lens in the eye is replaced with an artificial lens. The result is more clarity of vision with sharper focus.

Currently, the RLE procedure is not technically approved by the FDA, the procedure is performed on a case by case basis by a limited number of surgeons. If you do not qualify for any other form of corrective vision therapy (due to cataracts for example), ask your doctor about the RLE procedure as an option for your own vision correction.
